I've been with a dozen different webhosts, namely: HostGator, IX-Hosting (small hosting, went down a few years ago; really, REALLY crap hoster), ResellerZoom, JaguarPC, and a few others.

Out of all of them, JaguarPC was the preferred pick. But, I'm going to continue searching for more providers. In fact, I'm going to check out NearlyFreeSpeech.NET for hosting, I'll let you know how it turns out!

Hi Fred -- that certainly looks like a Go Daddy reseller (as you mentioned) but I can't argue with good service :D

Peter, I'd recommend www.DownDoggy.com for both hosting and domain names. They are a reseller, but they have prices as low if not lower than the domain registrar you mentioned and they have more personal contact with me. How many registrars take the time to send a personal email? I got one from the owner of DownDoggy. These people were really helpful when I needed assistance transferring domains out of Registerfly. I use my domains and hosting for business so I can't afford to risk downtime on a discount hosting service. It's all about security and service for me. I really enjoy your blog :-)

I'm always a bit skeptical of a hosting company that will offer 20gb space and 750gb monthly transfer for a year for $10...

As opposed to May C, I am dropping Netfirms and staying with Dreamhost.

I've written <a href="http://dustin.sullivanclan.net/blog/index.php/works/2007/02/15/hosting_solutions_dreamhost_vs_netfirms" rel="nofollow">an article</a> about it on my blog (which is hosted by Dreamhost).

In summary: lots of problems with Netfirms and no problems with Dreamhost. (I wouldn't know about Dreamhost's support, since I've never had to contact them)

I am with Netfirms which I originally signed up for a special deal and although I was considering to switch over to Dreamhost and did proceed to a certain degree, I was finding that support wasn't as good at Dreamhost. They couldn't figure out why if I get the 404 error or internal server error that I would not be able to log back in regardless of the browser used or whatever. I never had such a problem with Netfirms.

So, I'm waiting until my Dreamhost account expires and cancel it because Netfirms regardless of their silly way of installing wordpress into: your-domain-name.netfirms.com/nfblog (for wordpress blogs installations), I'm sick of trying to move the entire blog over and lose all my links and everything else since people are linking to me.

Netfirms isn't perfect but most times, it's okay. I'm sticking with them unless something horrible happens.
