You can load the question by clicking on the number along the bottom.

I am not understanding how to load. I have saved in notepad as directed. What do you open and click to replace your preloaded questions at the bottom with my own?

You have to edit the XML file that came with the package. It is pretty easy, as you just replace the question that is already in PARENTHESIS. Then, just change the answers the same way. You will figure it out.

I think that the generator saves a questions.xml file to the same folder as the generator. Then you can copy that questions.xml file to the same folder as the Family Feud game itself.

We used this in 2009 and it worked great. I am trying to change the questions in the xml file and txt file and neither update the game? What file do I use to update the game? And after I update it, do I need to do some sort of upload?

Hi, as long as questions.xml is updated within the same folder as the game, the new questions should appear.

One common "gotcha" is if your operating system hides file extensions, and you accidentally end up renaming questions.xml to questions.xml.xml

Hi. I opened the questions.xml file using TextEdit (on a Mac). I first received a notification stating that the file was locked, and I could either unlock it or duplicate it. I've tried both options, editing the questions and answers each time, and saving the .xml file back to the original folder. However, the questions do not show up at all when I run the index file.

I was very careful to only replace the text in the placeholders given, and didn't change any other items in that .xml file. My system does not hide file extensions, so my edited file is still titled "questions.xml"

Can anyone help me get my questions to show up?

(I also tried editing the .xml file using Mac-suggested programs such as Illustrator and Excel. Both times, I couldn't save the edited file with an .xml extension, only .txt)
