Magic Jack has been ordered to have 911 service
in Canada by October 15 by the CRTC.

Magic Jack is saying that they can't have it installed
until November 15 2010.

Magic Jack has also known that they need to have
911 service in Canada for a very long time but has
thumbed their nose at the system and has not installed
it. Now it looks like Magic Jack is being ordered to have
911 service installed.

If Magic Jack fails to have 911 service installed
in Canada by October 15 2010 the CRTC is saying
that they will identify the Local Exchange Carriers
(LECs) and / or local service providers that are
providing network resources and Canadian phone numbers
with the intention of disconnecting service to Magic Jack
if they don't get it installed by October 15 2010.

The CRTC made a ruling April 4 2005 that all
VOIP providers must provide 911 service, more
than 5 years ago and still Magic Jack doesn't have
911 service on their service.
