League Scoring Method question

I am trying to work out a better/fairer method of establisihing team results.

Scenario:
4 players on each of teams Home & Away
each player has 2 singles games and 1 doubles game
player 1 (Home) vs player 1 (Away)
player 2 (Home) vs player 2 (Away)
player 1 (Home) vs player 2 (Away)
player 2 (Home) vs player 1 (Away)
player 1 & 2 (Home) vs player 1 & 2 (Away)
.
.
same format for players 3 & 4

Results for games can only be win or loss as winner is first player or pair to reach a certain number of points. A win in singles is worth 1 point, doubles 2 points. Games have a time limit but if drawn at the point play is extended until there is a result.

A team win is determined by adding the games win points.
If there is a draw in game points I favor using the totals of difference in games scores. I believe this is the fairest method as some games are real battles and scoring is hard or players are slow.
(ie.) if a game score was 9 - 5 the diff would be +4 to the winning team.

So at the end of a days play a result might look like:

Home 6 game points and +7 score diff WINNER
Away 6 game points and -7 score diff LOOSER

I'd love to hear of variations other conferences use.
