Remember that magicJack itself doesn’t offer Canadian numbers. For a list of available US area codes, you can check:

Your physical location will not affect the area code choices available :)

Hello. I just stumbled onto the MagicJack and on its official site it states something about using a Metropolitan number. But on another site I got the impression anyone in Canada & the US are able to use it w/o incurring any extra charges. I live in a very small rural village. Our closest city has approx. 30, 000 people. It is not considered big at all. I do have broadbane internet connection. My question is: Can a person plug in their own telephone number somewhere to find out what numbers are available for them to use as a local number ? Thanks eh.
