I currently live in Turkey and I have the MJ Plus. It seems to work fine as long as I have it plugged into my computer, but when I try to plug it into the LAN port of my router, I get dial tone, but it can't dial any phone numbers. When I dial a digit, I get the tone but the dial tone is constant through the dialing process and when I have dialed the complete 10 digit number, all I get is the sustained dial tone still.
The only thing I can think of is that the wireless router that I am using is running on 220v power and maybe that is making the magic jack LAN connection go crazy. Any advice or input any of you may have will be appreciated.
I just want to be able to use my MJ plus without having to have my computer on all the time I use it.

Well, you can't fault the price, but it keeps happening that I'm talking to my friend and suddenly there is dead air and a fast busy signal and she's gone. This happened often enough for me to contact Magic Jack and I was told to disconnect everything, wait 2 minutes and re-connect and then everything would be fine. WRONG! It's still happening on a regular basis as is really frustrating. I had heard from other people that this is a common problem with Magic Jack, so I guess since I am committed for 5 years, I guess it's something I'll have to live with, but I don't know I would go this route again.

Hey Christofoletti! I share your like of MagicJack... have had mine since they first came out. I purchased a 5 year plan & I don't remember when it started. You say that the online support is "AWESOME", but I can't figure out how to access my subscription information, nor is there a way on their web site to contact online support. Is there a different home page available that I am not seeing?

I purchased the Magic Jack yesterday, setup was easy, and local calls work fine. Now my question: When my mother in Germany calls me on my MJ, is it the same as if she would call a landline here in the US? The reason we bought the MJ was her not having to call my cell phone (expensive). Also, are incoming overseas calls free for me?
Thanks for answering.

Magicjack is a scam. Shakey hardware and even worse software. Tech support is horrible and run out of India. It's impossible to contact a real person and live support won't give a legit telephone number or email address. If you are considering MJ just bash you head into the wall until bleeding and save yourself $69 plus all the "add ons" necessary to have a functional phone. Go with Skype, they're not perfect but also not scammers.

I have been trying to download a second Canadian phone # for my MagicJack Plus for 4 days. The original number I was given was supposed to be a local 226 number for the London, Ontario, Canada area, but my family and friends all get the message "This is a long-distance call"

So, after FIVE "Chatline calls, I still cannot download a second Canadian number because their computer system continues to reject my Mastercard's 3-digit Security Code as "INVALID", EVEN AFTER I REPLACED THE CARD WITH ANOTHER CARD, I GET THE SAME PROBLEM - -IT REFUSES TO ACCEPT THE SECURE CODE.

I have tried every possible way to get through to them, but this sure looks suspicious when they do NOT EXPOSE ANY E-MAIL OR PHONE NUMBERS and when you get "canned responses" from EVERY CHATLINE PERSON.

I am rapidly losing confidence that MJ can ever permit me to rely on them so I can boot MA BELL OUT OF MY HOME FOREVER!!!!!!
