This plugin brings a huge update so that it is in line with version 3.1.3 of the custom anti-spam plugin.

Among the many changes:

Settings now customizable through the WordPress admin panel
Cleaner plugin directory structure to facilitate translations, custom fonts, and settings file updates
Improved compatibility with caching plugins

WordPress 2.6 comes with the ability to move wp-config.php or the wp-content folder out of their default locations. Therefore, this version of the plugin adds a setting $cas_wpconfig so that users can manually input put either the absolute or relative path to wp-config.php.

Registration form protection for WordPress 2.5 was previously broken in this plugin, because WordPress 2.5 has a new way of handling error messages. This is now fixed. Users of WordPress versions prior to 2.5 who want to use the registration form protection will have to use version 1.0.3 of the plugin or lower.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the plugin, I've just installed it in my blog, nice and easy. :)

Just one little thing: if you want your plugin to be XHTML 1.0 compliant, you should remove the language='JavaScript' bit.

Also, and this is also a minor detail, you might want to add a config option to display or not the (*) next to required.

Just one more thing (how annoying can I be!): the button to submit this comment says 'Save New Post', which is a bit confusing I think. I hope I'm not actually creating a new post, I just clicked on the 'Reply to Post' button.

The major change in this release is that the audio and image generation are now run through the plugin file itself.

For example, instead of:

http://www.yoursite.com/?antiselect=1

The URL for the image is now:

www.yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/math-anti-spam/math_anti_spam.php?antiselect=1

This is a longer URL but more efficient and makes it so that the anti-spam plugin has less of a chance to clash with other plugins.

This is a minor release with some performance tweaks from user requests:

There is a new option ($cas_sox) to disable random stretching of the wav files (thanks Angelo!).
When sox is used or attempted to be used, no output or error messages are given to the server (thanks Angelo!).
Invalid audio file links are now blocked from being indexed by search engines (thanks Lucky!).

This is a pretty major release with a change in the audio file generation and added protection for registration forms.

The generated audio files are now wav files. This makes them bigger than before, but is important as I couldn't easily vary the size of the audio files with mp3s. Now the wav files are "stretched" upon generation to a variable length by the sox filter, which is built in to most severs. Thanks to Jose for pointing out this problem.
Following some testing on the beta release with registration form protection, this has been incorporated into the main code. See the bottom part of the settings section in the file to customize the registration form protection.
