The plugin does not alter any WordPress files. I don't know why WordPress is still trying to call it if you'd properly installed it, but the easiest way to completely remove it is to simply delete all of the plugin's files. You might also have made some call to it in your template, or you might have a caching plugin that is still trying to load it.

I've disabled this plugin but it's now throwing database errors.

Can you tell me what wordpress files this plugin has altered so I can find out where this is still be called.

First, try upgrading to version 1.0.5 of the RAS plugin.

Do you use any caching programs?

I have been using this plugin for a long time without any problem but an error have started to appear now.

The problem is a "duplicate key" when showing the captcha. This problem was reported in the Custom Antispam forum (http://www.theblog.ca/peter-fo.....ror/page-1)
but it seems to be also happening in the Random plugin.

I have the 1.0.1 version which I think is newer than the 2.9.2 version of the Custom Antispam Plugin (this version solved the problem). I'm using it with wordpress 2.2.

The 1.0.1 version of the RAS plugin contains the sentence:
$ras_rowid = $wpdb->get_var('SELECT last_insert_id()');
which is said to be the solution on the forum thread, but it doesn't seem to work.

Is it a known issue? Has anybody the same problem?

Are you installing the plugin anew? Or did you upgrade from a previous installation (if so, from which versions of WordPress and the plugin)? What is your site’s URL? What error messages, if any, do you get upon page load or when loading the image directly?

All is OK in the diagnostic page:

GD library
Yay! The GD library is installed. This is the most important thing to be able to use this plugin. You might still need to do some tweaking to the settings of course.

FreeType
Yay! The FreeType library is installed. The anti-spam image should display using the uploaded fonts.

get_option
Yay! The script should be able to automatically figure out your blog address.

There's no error message to give you. The image doesn't get created, that's all. If you click the image placeholder, you hear the audio version. But the browser just keeps trying to render the page.

FWIW, I have another captcha plugin running now (MyCaptcha). But it's not as elegant as yours. ;-)
