Peter you are definitely slipping. From 7-11 pay-as-you-go to all the other detailed and exceptional, I might add, reviews you have given us a fiscal reason to consider the alternative... But, NOOOOO, not this time
Humph!!

For my digital still and vid cams i finally found “LCD screen protector for digital cameras” This is by Optex p/n osp10 (was at LDrugs for $10).

includes cleaning materials for a couple types of screens lots of screen material and a squeegy.

Tip, cut the material 1-2 mm back from edge, so it is harder for it to catch and peel back prematurely.

Definitely would slap this on the Z scrn, as soon as I confirmed the unit worked …. out of its packaging (fully charged first of course)

The scratch resistent glass screen on the Zune 4/8/16/80 works wonders - I really don't think you need to bother with a screen protector unless you really plan on abusing it :P.

Zune Review critic

Before throwing down the gloves, I would like to point out that the review had many good points, such as mentioning the hacks to access marketplace. I really enjoyed it and it would be nice to get to comment on the positive things. What can I say, I’m a positive kind of guy! Oh well, you ask for a down and dirty criticism, so here we go.

First, in the first part of the review, there is very few specs mentioned. It would have been nice to have real use battery life performance(with and w/o wi-fi/bluetooth) and a bit more info on the file format supported both for sound and video. Also, a bit more info on the menu structure on the player and the software. By the way, your hand really looks weird in the picture where you’re holding the player (the thumb is looking slightly off…) And what about using the picture of Feist? That’s obviously a subliminal publicity for Ipod! It would have been nice to know how well the radio function works and if it is possible to record from radio. A bit more info about sound quality, EQ, volumes and playmodes, playlist would have been nice.

Now for the second part of the review. A little reseach would have showed that Puretrack is not the only DRM free music store open to Canadian. There is also emusic and Zunior. Zunior sells both in MP3 and FLAC, but since we still don’t know (see first part) the specs of the zune, we can’t purchase FLAC files, can we? There is no screenshot of the actual marketplace store. No details on how much music is available, is everything DRM free or with DRM. Would it be possible to buy Malajube on marketplace? I don’t know, but Zunior would sell it to you for 3.33 in 192kbps MP3 or 320kbps FLAC (it’s a mini album with 4 tracks) Full albums are 8.88$cnd.

As for the third part, there is yet another blatant endorsement of Ipod through the use of Feist as the artist prominently displayed in the picture. Are there any other interactions possibles between the Zune and the internet or with other Zune? Can you transfert playlist? Movies? Podcast? What is the range of action of the Zune transfert? Does it drop easily if more distance is involved? Details!

I hope my earnest criticism will reach their intended goals of enlightening you as a reviewer and yet, humor you as well. The fact that you have Malajube in your music collection is a proof of intelligence and good taste (such as myself hehe!) I would like to have the Zune with some samples of your music, since I’m always on the lookout for emerging talents. Alright, enough with the flatteries. Good day to you all!
