using magicjack to call the 867 area code in Canada | magicJack | Forum

Has anyone else had issues with calling the 867 area code in Canada. For those who do not know, it is the area code for all three northern territories – Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut. I have not been able to get through to any numbers I call there, instead all I get is a busy signal before the call even goes through. I know their service is working because I've called from a regular phone and they're fine.

Went through same crap and finally finally was told its to expensive to use area code 867 at this time. So much for false ads. Anyways if your interested I bought 500 minutes from keep calling at 1 cent a minute. Used there toll free numbers much like a calling card and got through to Yellow Knife, Hopes this helps you out,

It doesn't cost more to call the teritories since I use the Talkit device for VOIP calls for free without a problem, it is magicjack themselves who are blocking the 867 numbers for whatever reason. They should be sued on a class action basis for false advertising (or at least a complaint to the competition bureau is warranted)
