Issues with Strikes

Hi again guys. Just doing some final tweaks before our dept. meeting on Monday and I noticed in my practice run that the strikes are not "counting" properly. It's

    not

an issue of the X getting stuck on the screen. Instead, it just keeps showing only one X and says "0 Strikes" instead of adding them up and showing multiple strikes after there have been 2 or 3 wrong answers. Any idea what the problem may be?

Thanks,
Tania

Unless you've tweaked the .fla file and regenerated the .swf file, I don't know what the cause of this could be. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash, try a different computer, etc. I'll have to differ to Warren, Matt, or someone else for this one.

Thanks Peter. I haven't knowingly altered the .fla file. I've only been tweaking the question file. At one point in my initial tests, it would sometimes work properly and other times not work. However, now I can't seem to get it to work at all. Should I just download Warren't file again or will that mess things up? I did try it today from the computer in our large meeting room (as opposed to my desk) where the game will be played next week and I had the same issue. However, I was accessing the same game files since they are stored on our network folders. If you or the other guys think of anything else I can try, please let me know. Thanks!

If you do not have a team score highlighted (meaning they are in control) the X's don't count properly.

Make sure a team's score is highlighted/marqueed (using the left and right arrow keys)

RatedPG is correct.

You must assign the question to a team if you want to keep track of the strikes.

Picture is this way;

The round starts off with one player from each team up at the podium with the host. After the host asks the question, one of the contestants "buzzes in" for their chance to guess the best answer. Whichever one guesses the better answer can choose to "play" or "pass".

If neither contestant is able to guess an answer from the list, they "ping-pong" back and forth until one of them guesses an answer that is in the list.

That's where you'd use the arrow keys to specify which team is in control of the round.
