I was just with Telus for two years, not a hapy customer. When my phone started to crash I got pissed. Now I've lost it and am looking for a cheap plan. I'm looking into a $20/month plan with Koodo and the Samsung Slyde phone. Should I?

I am looking into Koodo for the Samsung Slyde with the $25/mnth plan of Unl. Picture+Text Messages, 100 Minutes, etc..

Is it worth it? I was doing the math, and with a $150 Koodo Tab, and $25 bill, it would take me 5 YEARS to pay it off! How? Well:

10% of $25 is $2.50
150 (Tab) divided by 2.5 (percent of bill) is 60 (60 bills)
60 (number of bills) divided by 12 (how many months in a year) is 5. 5 years!

I don't know, but I would probably pay it off on year 3 ($60 to pay it off).

So, I don't know if it's worth it or not.. Maybe I'll reduce the Tab before I buy the phone.

I got the phone and plan and, what a shock, DAMN I AM NOT IMPRESSED!
Not only did they add money, the unlimited text expired ! Ten ays after i got it! The $15/month plan is actually $18.50, the $5/month unlitited texting is actually 6.50 plus Pst AND GST. Screw that, I'd rather have my original telus phone back.

Do NOT do it! The tab is the least of your worries.

Then bring it back, you have 2 weeks to change your mind, and if you don't want a tab just pay for your phone, no one is going to give you a $200 phone free for no reason

DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've checked this out,,, Its not worth it. I am a Telus customer and have looked into this also. I have found that you can get the pay as you go plan from Telus. this plan has unlimited text, picture and video messaging. It also has unlimited in coming calls, along with the early nights and weekends from 6 pm to 7 am on weekdays and from 6pm Friday night till 7am Monday morning. If you register a credit card to your account (this does not need automatic top ups) your air time rate can be as low as 0.20 cents per minute, but does start at 0.35 cents per. This gets reduced with the price of the cards you buy for top ups.

The Samsung m-540 (my phone) sells for $129.00 on the pay and talk plans, and comes with a $50,00 air time / plan card. The koodo 1 phone is also about as cheep. keep an eye, and you may get one of the phones listed for as low as $100.00. (inside info) look around Christmas for these deals.

I hope this helps with you decision. good luck

I just got Koodo...those who are saying stick with Telus, koodo basically runs through Telus. I rather pay a fee of 150 dollars or less, then cancellation fees for rogers or telus or any other provider for that matter (and at least I get the phone out of it - the money is going to something!)
