I made this topic just to say how much koodo sucks in terms of customer service. I've tried calling and getting in touch with a representative at least 4 times. Each time I get put to that stupid radio station ( you guys also have awful taste in music), and have to listen to that crap for 10 + minutes, subsequently I realize that no one is ever going to pick up the phone; so I hang up.

All I'm trying to do is ask what my pin number is becasue i can't find the papers or remember what it is. Somehow koodo makes this impossible task ever more impossible.

The Koodo phone customer service system is beyond awful.

No matter when you call.... they are experiencing a "unexpectedly high amount of calls" and you're put on hold a minimum of 10-15mins. THEN to top it off, half the time the system simply dumps your call and you're made to call back AGAIN to wait AGAIN for a service rep from India pretending they are in Canada.

Awful. Worst customer service ever.

Yes, they do suck. They unilaterally changed my kids' plans and suddenly we're paying for US text messages whereas we signed up for free north american texting.

And yes, had to wait 10+ minutes and listen to crappy music.

Any good options out there to switch to for free north american texting???

I must agree on all the above comments. I have problem with the change of plan in the middle of a billing cycle. It's definitely a scam. It does not matter what you do, you will pay extra air minutes. I have changed from $20 to $25 plan, but I did not get extra more free minutes. How Koodo calculates the airtime minutes per billing cycle is very illogical and bizzard. The representative tried to convince that it's fair and logical, but he failed miserably. I was not only pay extra for the plan change, but also pay the extra airtime I supposed to entitled to. Try to change plan if you want to know what I mean, then you will understand. It is not flexible and not fair. You get dinged both ways haha. No more sunshine for me by joining Koodo.Embarassed

You guys need to grow some patience. Here's an eye opener for you. No matter what provider you are with, Bell, Rogers, Virgin, Fido, etc. You will experience a MINIMUM of 10-15 minute wait time. This is to be expected when there are millions of people trying to call the same place for help with their phones. Here's a suggestion; learn what your plan covers and what it does not, know what your phone should do and shouldn't do, then if there is still an issue. Go to the kiosk at the mall or WalMart or where ever it was you bought your POS phone and have them do something about it.

Try phoning and when given your options select the option "Id like to buy a new service". Then when you get transferred RIGHT AWAY to someone you can get them to transfer you to tech support!
Works like a charm everytime (With Telus)

If you only waited 10+ minutes then I would say their service is much better than the industry average. Not to say that their waiting is acceptable, but all the other providers that I called I have to wait much longer than that.

Koodo is the worst when it comes to support,

They are the absolute worst, unimaginable greedy, and unhelpful phone company I ever had experienced. and I cant leave them because of the damned tab.

So far I'm quite pleased with the service. Considering the volume of calls, 5- 10 minute wait is not unreasonable. I did have a problem with my SIMM card crashing ( for the Optimus one phone.......which other than this glitch I love) , but within a day they gave me a new SIMM card and I'm back in business......Plus they gave me a $35 credit for the inconvenience!.

Dear employee of Koodo. With all due respect, YOU SHOULD LAY OFF THAT STUFF AND GET REAL!!. Go to Walmart to get service from Koodo? There's a reason so many BBB complaints have been filed.

To the people with complaints about Koodo or most of the other telcom providers in Canada that you cannot resolve, confirm your provider like Koodo is a member (they are) then lodge a complaint with the CCTS - Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunication Services http://www.ccts-cprst.ca/
You'll be amazed how nicely they treat you after your complaint is filed.

You guys are hilarious. It's like none of you have been with a bigger phone company before or something! You're spoiled!

- Whenever I've called Koodo (only 3 or 4 times) I've only had to wait up to 5 minutes. One of those times I got through instantly! I've been with Telus, Bell (twice), Rogers, and Virgin. NONE of those have ever been quicker than 10 minutes.

- I've never had to call Koodo to complain about anything. Every one of my calls was to ask a simple question or to see what they could do about giving me a credit towards my tab so I could get a new phone early (and one time my phone was stolen so they reset the tab completely!). When I was with each of the other companies I constantly had to call about billing problems. No issues with Koodo, my bill is the same every time, I get more, and I pay less!

- The pro-rated charges make complete sense. If you change your plan half way through a month then you basically pay for half of your old plan, and half of your new plan. You end up getting half the minutes from your old plan, and half the minutes from your new plan, too. If you were on the $20 plan and switched to the $25 then you pay $10 + $12.50 ($22.50). If you had 50 minutes on the old plan and 100 on the new, then you get 25 + 50 minutes (75 minutes) for that month.

You can't just switch to a bigger plan on the last day of the month and get all the extras for 1/30th the cost! This the same anywhere you go anyway!

- You can leave any time and THE MOST YOU WILL PAY is $150 because of the tab. Do you not realize that this can only go down (and does) each month, whereas this number is as high as $720 with other companies, and a MINIMUM of $100?! And those companies WILL hunt you down and send you to collections if you're even a day late paying that ETF fee. They barely negotiate (fortunately collections does). As soon as you're not a customer, there's zero tolerance, they basically hate you.

You're crazy if you think that you can't leave Koodo because of the tab. They lent you that money for your phone. You have to pay it back if you leave and keep the phone. C'mon! Would you rather pay the other guys $720 even if your phone was only $200? And Koodo probably sells you that $200 for $150 anyway!

This thread is a whole lot of fail.YellYell
