Hey everyone ! I recently bought a Koodo Mobile and I have Unlimited Texting. My first question is: Does this include international text messaging? And 2nd question: I received my first bill and there’s a section on the bill that says ” Text Messages Received” and “Text Messages Sent”. I haven’t texted internationally yet, but if I do text internationally, will there be a section on the bill that says ” International Text Messages Sent” and “International Text Messaged Received”. Or will all the texts received/sent be included in the “Text messages received/sent”?

Welcome to the Koodo Network!! ... Yes unlimited Texting does mean that you have international texting as well. To your second question: yes when you do any international texts you will see on your next invoice "International Texts"

I was thinking about buying a koodo phone (the motorola W380) can I get some feedback on that phone?? and I have been hearing alot of problems with texting. I plan on doing alot of texting and was wondering if the problems are with all the koodo phones?

Hi, i've been using the W385 for 6 months now. It's great. I have no texting or dropped call issues. If you like a simple and dependable phone, the W385 is a great choice.

I’ll be making the switch to KoodoMobile(from Rogers) and since I gained a lot of valuable information from theblog.ca’s write up as well as the many many comments I thought I’d offer my experience thus far. This relates to the comments regarding Telus customer service. I sent koodomobile an email yesterday:
——————————————————————————-
I’m considering switching providers from Rogers to Koodo. There are a couple concerns I have, most notable is poor customer service. I guess this email will be my own personal gauge for whether the assertions are true or not. Here are my questions:
1) Is the LG 8700 TriBand or Dual Band?
2) If I go with the $45 Plan which includes long distance, does that mean that as long as I don’t go over my minutes I will never get any long distance charge ever? Whether I’m in Brantford making calls to Toronto or in Toronto making calls to Brantford, or whether I’m not in Brantford and I’m receiving a call. In all those scenarios, will I never see a long distance charge on my phone as long as I stay in Canada under my alloted minutes?
3) If my phone should break, how long would it typically take me to get a replacement if it is still under warranty and I send it immediately to your RMA department?
4) If Koodo decides to increase the price of their plans in the future, will I be allowed to continue paying my previous amount or will I be forced to adopt the new price?
5) If I was to get the unlimited Internet option for $7 what connection would I be using? Would it be EV-DO or would it be 1xRTT?
Thank you very much for your time and I hope you give me a full and complete response.

Sincerely,
Robert S

Hi Robert,
Thank you for your interest in Koodo Mobile Id be happy to answer your query.
1) The LG 8700 is Dual-mode phone
2) Yes with the Nationwide talk and text plan you will never be billed long-distance charges for any calls made while in Canada to anywhere in Canada.
3) If you have a Koodo shop near you it may take a few days up to 2 weeks to repair or send out a replacement. Or we can do a priority exchange for 25$ and we will send a replacement within 3-5 business days to receive.
4) If we decide to change our prices then you would be able to keep the older plan.
5) You would be using EV-DO technology 1xRTT is for talking not internet connections.

Thank you for choosing Koodo Mobile.
Sincerely,
C.V.

Thank you very much for your quick response. You answered almost everything I asked and it’s helped me make my eventual leap to a new company (I’ve been with Rogers for well over 5 years now). The only thing I didn’t get a response but would like clarity on is what happens when I’m in Toronto and I receive a call. I will be out of my area so will I get charged long distance on this or will I not get charged for being out of my home area?

Thank you again for your response.

Sincerely,
Robert S

Hi Robert S,

Thank you for your interest in Koodo Mobile, I’d be happy to answer you query.

If you have the Nationwide Talk and Text Combo, you will not be billed for long distance charges even if you are outside your home calling area. That plan allows you to be anywhere in Canada and are able to make and receive calls with no long distance charges.

We hope to welcome you to a Fat-Free experience here at Koodo Mobile.

Sincerely,
J.B.

Both responses were under a day and they were very friendly and informative. I’ll try Koodo for a month starting next week and if I’ll respond again with my initial opinion.

switching from rogers to ANYTHING is a good move! Lol. I am a ex rogers employee. I left my job with rogers on good terms with them. But feel I should warn people about it! Seeing what i've seen about Rogers from inside the company makes me sick! I hated working for such a horrible company. The opperating systems and billings systems rogers used were ALWAYS crashing.... no body was really trained properly and ANYBODY and EVERYBODY was hired for the job, no matter what their background was! Yikes. I even got screwed over with my Rogers phone while working for Rogers.... I'm with Koodo now. I never want to have to deal with Rogers again. So far so good with Koodo! :)

I bought an LG Shine with koodo a few weeks ago and I got my first bill today. I really like the way most things are clearly explained so I dont feel like im getting screwed ( I have unlimited text and I really like seeing "0.00$" on my bill :) . I havnt had any problems with unexpected fees, dropped calls, cheap service, texting or anything like that, but it's still early.

I have some questions about ringtones though

-Do i have to buy them on my phone or can I just use the internet on my computor?
-Do I have to subscibe to a site? Because I really just want one or two and dont want any "Surprise! were billing you 13.99$ a month for membership fees!"

I have had the Samsung U410 phone with Koodo since the summer. Since then, I haven't been able to receive texts on about 3 different occasions. Each time, I had to call *611 and get them to reset the network for me.

It happened again today, I tried taking out the battery, calling *22803 and upgrading the roaming didn't work, said it couldn't upgrade it; so once again I will have to call Koodo tomorrow and get them to reset it.

Each time I call, they tell me they haven't gotten many complaints like this, they don't know why it does this. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the network but it's very very frustrating. Thoughts??

At the moment ringtones for Koodo Mobile can only be purchased by going through the Web ON your cell phone ((5 cents a page!!! F.Y.I)) ... And no you do not have to subscribe to any site or membership!

:) Koodo!

Hi, I just bought a LG Keybo (enV2) off of my friend, and i just have some questions before i get started with Koodo.

**1. The LG Keybo i purchased was origionally for Telus. So i was wondering if i would be able to set it up with Koodo, since they are basicaly the same company. Or will i have to buy a new phone from Koodo?**
2. I wanted to know if i would be able to pay bills through debt, or do they only accept credit?
3. and lastly is Koodo’s able to switch phones numbers from one company to another? Because i would like to keep my number from rogers if it is possible.

THX :DD

When you say that you will see the texts on the bill does that mean the whole texts or just the numbers? And will it be the same on e-billing?

I HONESTLY LOVE KOODO, I AM A TEENAGER I'VE BEEN WITH THEM FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS I PAY 45 EVERY MONTH AND I GET
1. UNLIMITED TEXTING
2. FREE AFTER 5 PM
3. VOICEMAIL
4.CALLER ID
5. 100 MINS ANYTIME

BUTTTTTT MY CONCERN IS THAT I HATE ABSOLUTELY HATE MY PHONE, I HAVE THE LG SHINE AND I WANT TO BREAK IT IN HALF. ONE THING IS THAT KOODO DOESNT HAVE NICE PHONES. I DEBATING WITH MYSELF WHETHER OR NOT I SHOULD DROP KOODO AND GO TO ROGERS ( because their phones are aweome) OR WAIT A FEW MORE MONTHS, IF SO HOW MUCH MORE LONGER!!!? I HATEEE MY PHONEE!

thanks:):):):):)

Hi Miss,

I am seriously considering Kodoo based on the price and unlimited text. But here is my question when you say you hate your phone is it due to the look or is it a poor quality phone (dies quick, bad sound)? I don't care about looks, size, ringtones, backgrounds ect. I just want it to work.

Thanks,

Natalie

WELLL...

Besides the appearance of the small variety of phones they have, koodo is actually pretty good, and the price is great ANDD is great if you want unlimited texting.
