Random data charges + mute calls ?

I've been with Koodo since late 2008, and never really had any problems (except occasional times where texts wouldn't send, blah blah). Recently though, I've been getting random data charges (this month it was about $6) and though it's not a huge amount, I'm wondering WHAT IS THIS FOR? I don't have a 'data block', but I did disable data connections on my phone itself - I currently have the Nexus S phone. I get charges like this every month, and I never use data, except when a friend sends a picture message (which is part of my plan) and I have to turn it back on. I was assured by a rep that even though picture messaging uses data, I don't have to worry about it charging me for data. So what is it?
Also, sometimes I can't receive calls - and when it finally comes through, whoopee! They can't hear me, or vice versa. I'm not roaming, or underground. It's usually when I have FULL reception...
Is anyone else having these problems?
I'm on the verge of canceling my account, because frankly, I'm fed up with their weird service and charges, and extremely rude and OUT OF AREA customer service reps. I don't want to drive all the way out to a kiosk just for some tolerable help for something I pay for, thanks. Only thing I don't want is to have to pay off the tab for my phone. Gah.

Hi Melanie,

I work for Koodo and I'd love to make sure you are properly looked after. Of course, I'm also curious what "random data charges" are and fix it if something is indeed broken. We have thousands of Nexus users and the issues you have mentioned haven't surfaced. So, if you wouldn't mind emailing your account number to [email protected] and put "To Bernard" in the title, I promise to do our best to figure out what is happnening. Thanks Melanie!
