Can I keep my current phone number and is there a fee to keep it and how much is this fee.

According to magicjack.com, this is not yet possible:
"Yes, you will be able to transfer or port your existing local phone number to magicJack, for a nominal fee, sometime in 2009."

So if I live in ontario will their be a larger than normal long distance charge for people calling me? Does this mean savings for me, expence for them?

Hi Dave, as a general rule a magicJack number is that same as having a landline with that number. Therefore, if you get an American magicJack number, people for which that particular area would be a long distance number would be charged normal long distance rates.
