My magic jack was registered in Toronto and my area code was toronto too. so if i'm calling my friend in Alberta in her landline do i have a charge on that or she will have a charge?

Only if she calls you will there be any charge -- a long distance charge for her.

Yes. As long as you can get the magicJack connected to a good Internet connection, calls from anywhere to Canada and the US have no extra charge.
