Have a friend pick one up at any US Radio Shach for $39.95 (included 1st yr. service and ph #) Take a US # & pay $19.99/yr. I Have one in Fla. & it travels with us. Works great.

I bought one at http://www.us2mytown.com. They ship it to Canada at very cheaper price. I ordered one even to Europe for my friend from this website.

I think Magic Jack has got some serious customer service issues. The only way to contact them is by email or chat, THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER. I attempted to return my Magic Jack to the Canadian distributor because they have no Canadian area codes available and expect Canadian customers to use a US area code. This is not mentioned anywhere in the order process. So i sent my unit back and it was not accepted and they actually returned it back to me again. Needless to say they have also not refunded my money. From what I read online, a LOT of people have problems with the units not working as advertised and there is discussion of a class action suit in Florida.

Buyer beware is the key phrase here!

And I would not be surprised to find out that Dave who just posted above me is Dave Ticknor who is the Canadian distributor of Magic Jack. I could be wrong of course...

This is the greatest product to come to Canada from the USA. It installed seamlessly just following the instructions. Very simple and easy. Anyone can do it. I have talked several times to Alaska and Hawaii just as if we were sitting next to each other.

For the price and ease of use, this is the ticket.

I wish Dave and all the staff at Magicjack Canada the best of luck.

I just cannot praise the product enough.

I got mine at Durham Radio Sales in Whitby, ON. Works fine. I have had it for a few weeks and the quality of calls is pretty good. I have had one dropped call so far.

I gave up on Skype over a year ago because it was inconvenient to use and too many calls were dropped. I have been told by friends that it works a lot better now.

Anyhow, you might be interested in knowing that Durham Radio is still selling the MJ for $39.95 Canadian whereas some computer stores on the web and factorydirect are selling them for $49.95. I suspect they just raise the price so they can put them on "sale" in their next flyer.

Anyhow, Durham Radio can be reached at 1-888-426-1688 or durhamradio.com

You pick your Canadian phone number when you activate you magicJack. It costs $10 extra per year to have a Canadian area code. There are about 40 area codes available in Canada now. The one from Durham Radio will allow you to do this. They are still selling it for $39.95 Canadian.

I've noticed that London Drugs has started to sell them.
